The Business

Join us in Edinburgh in the role of Customer Review Analyst, High Risk

  • You'll be conducting customer review risk assessments for complex and highly sensitive high risk customers within Personal & Business Banking (PBB)
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your skills and experience within the financial crime arena

What you'll do

You'll work within PBB Anti Money Laundering (AML) Operations in conjunction with Risk and Compliance teams to make sure that complex and highly sensitive high risk customers are identified and reviewed in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements. In doing so, you'll protect the bank from AML, sanctions and anti bribery & corruption (ABC) risks. This will involve contacting high risk customers - both over the telephone and via written correspondence - to gather relevant information to inform decisions.

Your role will also involve:

  • Completing high quality customer review risk assessments, with clearly articulated recommendations and actions which serve as our audit trail for regulatory purposes
  • Preparing documentation, such as letters to customers and briefs for senior audiences
  • Undertaking appropriate customer contact in line with the agreed framework for ongoing reviews, gathering additional information to support final recommendations
  • Identifying potential AML or risk concerns relating to high risk customers, and conduct investigations to minimise any risks
  • Supporting team managers with relevant investigations and resolutions of complaints related to HR customer reviews

The skills you'll need

You'll have a sound understanding of PBB processes and structure, and you'll have the ability to manage your own workload and adhere to demanding service level agreements, whilst being available for customers and maintaining an excellent service experience.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • The ability to make risk based decisions and recommendations following detailed investigations, with experience in report writing
  • The ability to profile customers and transactions in order to determine the risk posed to the bank
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills – with the ability to probe customers effectively
  • Broad experience of financial services in particular transactional and product knowledge
  • Knowledge of financial crime, and ideally a related qualification

How we'll reward you

In return, we offer a competitive salary up to £23, 200 plus 25% cash and benefit funding programme that can be tailored to suit your individual needs. In addition, we provide a wide selection of exclusive lifestyle offers, development and learning programmes, services and support designed to help you manage and balance your work/life priorities.
