The Requirements

Join us as a Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant in Londond or Hertfordshire

  • Ideal if you're a motivated professional, with strong practical experience in a health, safety and environment role
  • You'll be managing a portfolio of clients across the region, and providing consultancy solutions, covering their Safety, Health and Environmental needs
  • You'll be joining a unique and specialist area within our Commercial & Private Banking business, and enjoy a great deal of autonomy in your work, while also having the support of a friendly team

What you'll do

Covering a portfolio of around 80 clients across the region, you'll be travelling to meet them and gain a deep understanding of their business needs and priorities. You'll be building strong business relationships, and providing practical and bespoke solutions across a range of safety, health and environmental services.

By providing a consistently excellent, flexible and responsive consultancy service, you'll be helping to win trust, grow our client base, and maximise our client retention rates.

In the course of your work you'll be:

  • Developing, pricing, selling and delivering training courses to clients
  • Delivering bespoke safety, health and environmental consultancy services
  • Supporting the development of Mentor, by contributing to projects and working with the sales team to secure prospective clients
  • Developing new training and consultancy services and enhancing our safety, health and environment proposition
  • Supporting clients through effective crisis management, where required

The skills you'll need

You'll need the motivation and strong organisational skills to manage your own client portfolio and diary. You'll also need strong practical experience in a safety, health and environmental role, and a record of providing guidance and support on safety, health and environmental issues, across a variety of sectors or business areas.

Membership of IOSH or the Occupational Safety & Health Consultant’s Register (OSHCAR) is also a requirement.

We're also looking for you to:

  • Be able to draw on experience of working in environments where decisions are made based on risk evaluation and professional judgement
  • Have experience of carrying out safety, health and environmental audits
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills required to build trust and share your knowledge and expertise in a clear and engaging way
  • Be confident working on your own initiative, and building relationships with a diverse range of clients
